Health Ingredients Europe Conference Invites BI Nutraceuticals’ Pontiakos to Speak on Natural and Organic Ingredient Sourcing

LONG BEACH, CA, and MADRID, October 27, 2010—George Pontiakos, president and CEO of BI Nutraceuticals, will be discussing the risks of adulteration and spiking of botanicals and extracts as part of the "Sourcing Natural and Organic Ingredients" education session at the international conference Health Ingredients Europe on Wednesday, November 17 from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Feria de Madrid North Convention Centre. Amarjit Sahota, Managing Director of Organic Monitor, will also be speaking as part of the session.

In addition to discussing proper species identification techniques and processes for traceability, Pontiakos will also review both supplier and customer adulteration liability and ways that companies inadvertently self-inflict adulteration. Session attendees will learn of the importance of partnering with suppliers who practice GMPs and have established testing and traceability programs, as well as hear about the challenges associated with sourcing unadulterated products.

"Adulteration and spiking of ingredients is a worldwide industry issue that both suppliers and manufacturers need to be aware of," said Pontiakos. "I'm pleased to be speaking to this international audience on such an important topic."

As president and CEO of BI Nutraceuticals, Pontiakos oversees the company's worldwide operations.
