BI Nutraceuticals’ George Pontiakos to Participate in NBT Business Roundtable 2012 Debate at Vitafoods Europe

LONG BEACH, CA, May 17, 2012 — George Pontiakos, President and CEO of BI Nutraceuticals, the largest supplier of botanical ingredients in the U.S., will be a dynamic participant during the NBT Business Roundtable 2012 during Vitafoods Europe. The roundtable discussion will take place on May 23, 2012 from 10:30am- 12:00pm at the Starling Geneva Hotel and Conference Center.

With big pharma knocking on the door of nutra, and unprecedented change happening in the functional food sector, the question is: What does the nutraceutical industry need to do to remain viable and wrestle with the issue of pharma? The roundtable discussion will fall under the umbrella of Nutraceuticals: An Industry in Transition, and include sub-debate topics such as: Purity and Quality, Sustainability, The Challenge to Pharma, and IP & Litigation: Is the Nutraceutical Industry Already Getting Litigious?

George will focus his contribution to Purity and Quality, specifically the hot topics of Dry Labbing and Botanical Adulteration. "George is an industry expert when it comes to highlighting the issues that the nutraceutical and functional food and beverage industry face when it comes to sourcing, sterilization and adulteration", said Randy Kreienbrink, Director of Marketing at BI, "and his colorful insights should spark an engaging debate."
